Our Story

I founded my studio Art from the Urban Wilderness in 2021, specialising in the art of printmaking, papermaking, artist books and sketching.

In mid-2022 I moved my studio from my home into a large new space called Hive Studios, owned by artist Lena Tisdall and located in commercial unit complex in the north Brisbane suburb of Banyo.

Lena and I are working together to create an arts-based social enterprise that is driven by purpose not profit.   Our mission is to build an inclusive community that nurtures creative authenticity, confidence and resilience.  We also believe in the power of art to break the cycle of disaffection towards nature, to enrich lives and inspire care for the environment.

At Art from the Urban Wilderness, I offer a range of services where you can:

• Learn new techniques and skills by joining one of our Workshops and Experiences
• Find time and space to work on your own project through Community studio access
• Get guidance and support for your personal arts journey through One-on-one arts coaching and mentoring
• Gather and share with others in our Meeting space for creatives and local organisations
