Paint a Kookaburra in Watercolours

Come and paint one of my favourite subjects with me!

We’ll be using watercolour to paint one of these wonderful birds on lovely thick watercolour paper.

We’ll start with some exercises to test our colours and to practise our techniques, then I’ll guide you through painting the kookaburra from start to finish.

All materials are provided for use within the class.

We’ll have a short break in the middle, so please bring something along for lunch (a fridge and microwave is available to use). Tea and coffee is provided.

About the Tutor: 

Based near Brisbane, Australia, Alex Louisa mainly works with oils, PanPastel and watercolour, but she also loves to experiment with new materials. Her work focuses on elements of the natural world that grab her attention. Birds have always been her favourite subject (even her first word was “bird!”), but she also enjoys creating interesting still life compositions and landscapes.

Alex has exhibited through the US and Australia, and she teaches workshops to pass on her love of her favourite materials.
