Our workshop program for Winter is out now, check out what's on in our website calendar!
Tutor: Alex Louisa
This is the perfect class if you’ve always wanted to try out watercolour but you’ve never had the chance, or if you’ve dabbled a little but would love to learn some new techniques.
We’ll be working through a bunch of fun exercises with just a couple of colours so you can familiarise yourself with how this medium acts, how much water you should use, and how to get the appearance you’re after. Experimenting to see how pigment and water mixes like this is one of my favourite things to do.
You will learn a vast range of effects so you are fully armed with all the techniques you need to tackle your next watercolour painting. All materials are provided for use within the class, and you’ll go home with a stack of 20+ small pages that you’ve worked on, all ready for you to refer back to whenever you like!
About the Tutor:
Based near Brisbane, Australia, Alex Louisa mainly works with oils, PanPastel and watercolour, but she also loves to experiment with new materials. Her work focuses on elements of the natural world that grab her attention. Birds have always been her favourite subject (even her first word was “bird!”), but she also enjoys creating interesting still life compositions and landscapes.
Alex has exhibited through the US and Australia, and she teaches workshops to pass on her love of her favourite materials.
