Spend a day exploring woven concertina book forms that enable you to repurpose imperfect prints, unresolved drawings and decorative papers that may be languishing in your cupboards.
Woven books are a form of concertina or accordion artist book where you weave different papers together to create a standing book object. You can incorporate text elements as well as different types of papers and images to create a collage effect.
You’ll be able to make a few books during the workshop and you’ll also learn how to make hard covers for your books.
What’s included? Glue, cardboard for the book spines, mat board for covers. Use of bookbinding tools if you don’t have any. Morning tea, coffee and biscuits.
